Bearly There public playtest
Privacy, in plain language
You can play without sharing analytics. Game progress, language, audio settings, and your privacy choice are saved locally in your browser or app so the game can work as expected.
If you choose to share gameplay statistics
We create a random install identifier and collect gameplay events such as session starts, level starts and outcomes, time spent, moves, special pieces, tool use, free daily reward claims, and in-game coin and tool balances. We also record the game build, approximate viewport size, browser language, referral host, campaign tags in the link, and country supplied by our hosting provider.
In the Android and iOS apps, sharing is off until you choose “Share gameplay stats”. The app sends a limited set of gameplay events, a random app identifier, app version, build number and platform to this same first-party game service over HTTPS. The host supplies a country estimate; the native app does not send referral links, browser language, advertising identifiers or device contacts. Identifiers are pseudonymous, not linked to an account. Separate installations have separate progress and identifiers.
What we do not collect
The public browser game and native builds explicitly labelled ad-free have no player account, payment or advertising SDK. We do not request precise location or contacts. We do not store raw IP addresses or full browser user-agent strings in the game analytics database.
Optional advertising tests in separately labelled native betas
Ads-enabled Android and iOS test builds include Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform. Offers are labelled “Test video”: they are optional, earn no advertising revenue, and are not present in the public browser game. Declining an offer does not block free play or restarting a round.
If you choose to watch, we check advertising privacy choices before requesting an ad. This is separate from opting into gameplay statistics. Google may process your IP address, approximate location derived from it, app/device identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostic/performance information for delivering ads, measurement and fraud prevention. Non-personalized and test ads are not data-free. This beta does not request Apple’s tracking authorization and does not send our gameplay analytics identifier to the advertising SDK.
Starting with native build 2179, we request under-age-of-consent treatment for all advertising because the game does not collect your age. This setting is applied separately to Google’s consent service and advertising SDK. We also request non-personalized ads and a General ad-content rating.
Advertising choices can be reopened through Menu > Privacy > Advertising privacy where a Google privacy form is applicable. Choosing “Play privately” controls our gameplay statistics, not Google’s separate advertising settings. Avoiding optional videos avoids our ad-loading flow. Local reward counters enforce limits and recover undelivered boosters after an interrupted save. Google’s data handling and retention are described in its Privacy Policy and Android Mobile Ads data disclosure and iOS Mobile Ads data disclosure.
Purpose and retention
Our gameplay statistics are used to understand whether the game is enjoyable, where players stop, and which levels need adjustment. Raw gameplay events are automatically eligible for deletion after 90 days; cleanup runs in bounded batches when new sessions arrive. Aggregated learnings may be kept longer.
Your choice
Choose “Play privately” before starting, or use “Privacy choice” beneath the game at any time. Changing to private stops future analytics events on that browser.
In a native app, open Menu > Privacy during a round, or Privacy in the map settings. “Play privately” cancels pending transmissions and stops future sharing. Events from before consent are never uploaded. The app keeps at most 32 pending events in memory for up to one minute, with one retry after a temporary failure; no upload queue survives closing the app. Opting in again starts a new random analytics identifier. Turning sharing off does not erase events already received by the service or your local progress.
